I was awarded the Deloitte 2011 Chinese Business Figures Awards in recognition of my focus on bridging better business relations between New Zealand and China, including advising over 300 New Zealand firms and executives on developing international commercial partnerships and investments at the Shanghai World Expo 2010, with results for 79 companies within 6 months; established partnership between Rotorua District Council and the fourth largest airline in the world, China Southern Airlines; and increased tourism sales 20-50% by leading Destination Rotorua to be the first Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) in New Zealand to create a domestic campaign (3+2 Love Rotorua” that actively targeted Asian customers.
I was a finalist of the Women of Influence Award in the Diversity category in 2016 for my passion and commitment in making Diversity and inclusion thrive for organisational development, including increasing employee engagement by leading IAG to become one of the first New Zealand corporations to roll out Cultural Intelligence (CQ) training, and also increasing talent diversity and engagement by leading IAG to be the first New Zealand insurer to use the popular Chinese social app WeChat. I acted as a change agent to attract more than 20 IAG business units across Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch along with representatives from PWC, AirNZ, ASB, ANZ, Vector and Auckland University to attend CQ training. Previously, I also recruited and led a super-diverse media team from NZ, Australia, UK, US, Canada and China to produce the first NZ-made travel series that provided insight into the indigenous Chinese culture.
